  • Audio export with Sibelius: latency

    Hello,

I'm trying to export a composition directly though Sibelius 7, using Vienna Special Edition librairies, Vienna Ensemble, Vienna Suite and Vienna instruments Pro2.

    • In Sibelius, the audioEngine options give a latency of 23,85 ms for my M-Audio Delta ASIO SoundCard.
    • But when exporting and opening the output file in audacity, I have a latency vs. expected timing of the scor eof 600+ ms.

Do you have any possible explanation? Would it be possible to have a perfect audio output?

Besides, I'm wondering if this latency is supposed to be consistent throughout the export.

Thank you very much for your explanations and idea!

    Greg

    Hi Andi,

Thanks a lot for your prompt answer!

To be more precise, here is the process:

    • Audio Export is done with the above mentionned configuration
    • I got a wav file
    • I open this wav file through Audacity to see the waveform: it's graphically obvious that there is a latency
    • In the attached example you can hear the offset of ~1second.
(sorry I did not see any way to attach a file)

    Greg

  • Hi Weezic!

I watched your wav file and I don't think this has anything to do with latency. If you don't want this one second of silence at the beginning of your audio file simply cut it. [;)]

  • Hi Andi,

    Thanks for the tip [:P]

But I'm surprised I cannot get a proper exported audio file corresponding to what's written on my score ...

I'll try to have a talk with Sibelius guys.

    best,

    Greg
