  • How does MIR react when you play 2 or 3 simultaneous note on a monophonic instrument

    Hello Dietz and Karel

How does MIR react when you play 2 or 3 simultaneous note on a monophonic instrument ?

Could that cause hanging notes ?

  •  Polyphony is handled by the player (VI Pro) and MIR only receives the audio from the player. In the case of VI Pro, monophonic settings use last note priority, so it will always play the last note played, cutting off any earlier notes.

Different VSTi's (players) may allocate voices differently, maybe highest note or lowest note priority,  but I have never come across a VSTi that causes notes to hang when playing chords in a monophonic setting - if it ever does,  it's an issue with the player, MIR can only deal with the audio it is given.
