  • [SOLVED] Frequent crashes with VE Pro 5

VE Pro 5 is fine up until i use the Event Input plug in to get more midi channels into my VE Pro 5 instance. I'm able to add two or three more instruments on the new port of midi channels, but once I go beyond that, VE Pro 5 inevitably crashes. When I reopen the instance sometimes I can load another instrument and other times it'll crash even before I load an instrument. But it's not "only" the loading of an instrument that will cause the crash; it will also crash while adding a 3rd party plug-in effect on a track or moving an instrument around the MIR concert hall, or pretty much anything. I am running the most recent update for VE Pro 5 v5.0.10309. I'm using a Mac Pro 8 core 2 X 2.6 Ghz intel Xeon w/ 14GB ram running OS X v 10.6.8  and my sequencer Digital Performer v 7.24

Is there a lifeline out there?!

  • i think i solved the problem. i was so excited about getting this software that i didn't even think about where my buffer setting was set. duh, turns out it was set pretty low, so i raised to 512 and things seem stable.

  • It should not crash regardless though. Could you send the crash report to  with a link to this forum thread? Thanks.

  • i should also tell you that the crashes were happening in 32bit. i changed to 64 and raised the buffer setting and i was able to load 32 midi channels. anyway, thanks for the response. I've sent the info requested to the email you provided. Thank You!
