Ensemble and Solo On Same Staff in Siblius 6

Hi all,

I seem to be unable to trigger solo and ensemble oboe on the same staff, the staff only plays the ensemble oboe. Under manual sound sets ensemble and solo oboes are on different midi channels and their respective channels are assigned correctly in Vienna Ensemble Pro. Strangely under manual sound set I changed oboe 1 to be flute ensemble, loaded the appropraite matrix and when I switched between nat. and tutti all worked fine. So I'm guessing it's just the oboes.

I've only just done a clean re-install of Sibelius on my Mac and imported the latest house styles and sound sets from VSL's website.

Any thoughts?

Hello Simon!

Thanks for reporting. This only happens with the Special Edition PLUS sound set Oboe and will be corrected with the next update. In the meantime you can do the following thing:
1.) Edit the Sibelius instrument "Oboe" (House Style/Edit Instruments/Edit Instrument
2.) Under Best Sound choose VE Special Edition PLUS/Wind/Oboes/Oboe. If Sound IDs are displayed choose Wind/Oboes/Oboe/French/Normal.

This should solve the problem.
