    Does VSL have any demo samples that I could try in EXS format? Demos are great, but I would love to get some hands on experience using these samples before I decide.

    On a side note, anyone know any good website resources for freebees from users, etc? I'm looking for anything decent to mess around with in Logic.

    I´m happy to say, that the new Demo-DVD is going to be finished tomorrow. It should be available in about 2 weeks time.

    jon, i made the content of the *old* dvd available to download for users with a reasonable bandwidth (or enough patience) here for exs and here for giga
    you just need to be registered as person, no registered products needed

    Fantastic!

    Those files, i noticed, are .exe files. Are they intended for use on Mac? I guess they are probably just wav files, is that right? If so, then I will download them on my PC and unpack them and send them over to my Mac.

    darcy, this has several reasons. this (wave-)files are packed using WinRar, which provides an incredibly efficient compression algorithm. one could create .rar or .exe (the latter is selfextracting on windows) and we choose .exe to keep platform compatibility.
    well, logic for windows seems to be finally dead, but halion and kontakt are still there and are using the same wave database as exs.
    on a mac these archives can be extracted using stuffit expander (we'd recommend version 8.0.2 or higher) or UnRarX.
    it should be mentioned somewhere on the page ... no?

    we provided the content of the demoDVD-01 as a download because it has been no longer available. for the new one i'll ask if everybody here and our distributors agree.
