  • Try Sound SE Bundle

I booked a session with "Try Sound" and it's a great tool by the way.  My question though is do the samples represent the actual range of the instruments included in the bundle or are they truncated?  For example seems like some of the ranges don't go as high as they should like sustained trombones only go to f in the bass clef staff.

  • Hello winknotes,

Yes, you are playing the actual ranges of the instruments recorded in the Special Edition.

  • Hmm.  Ok then.  The patch I was trying was TTB which I assume is tenor trombone.  So are the ranges more limited in Special Edition than other packages?  Or am I looking at the wrong thing?

  • Hi winknotes,

The ranges are the same for all instruments. If you like, I can send you the Library Manuals for the VI Collections you are interested in, so you have all the details!

  • Which patch?

    DG

  • My question was answered on the MakeMusic Forum.  Someone posted the trombone ranges and it's clear to me that I was looking at something else; perhaps a tuba or something.

  • Thank you Paul and others for your patience with me and answering my questions in such a timely manner.  I just purchased the SE/SE+ standard bundle and am excited to start working with the samples.  In the meantime I will be reading everything I can get my hands on and watching videos so I can hit the ground running so to speak.  I'm primarily a notation user (Finale 2011) and will devour the tuts related to that especially.

    Thanks again,

    Steve
