  • Strange connection issue

After I started using Maschine again, I'm having strange things happening. The 64-bit server on the slave Mac Pro shows that it's connected to the slave PPC RTAS plugin, but the RTAS plugin shows that it's not connected. VEP doesn't receive MIDI, and therefore doesn't output any audio from the VI's either. A reboot of both Macs fixes the issue, but it's time consuming and annoying.

I mention Maschine, because it's the only thing I can think of that's recently added to my daily workflow the last few months. Also, after recording patterns into Maschine's sequencer, I get double triggering and flamming during playback. Exports of the audio sounds fine. Any thoughts?

    Thank you!

  • It seems the plugin lost its network connection. In such an event you can use the Force Disconnect feature in the VE Pro Server to mark the instance as not connected. That way you can connect to it again from the plugin.

I'll see if I can discover any potential time synchronization issues in the RTAS plugin. Thanks for reporting.

  •  Actually, Force Disconnect doesn't work either. Meaning, after the FD, VEP Server shows that it's disconnected, the VEP RTAS shows it's disconnected, but I can't re-connect to it. It shows as re-connected, but it really isn't. A reboot of both Macs is mandatory to get it working again.

As mentioned, I suspect Maschine 1.7.2 in combo with VEP 5 to be partially broken. There's something fishy going on after switching a channel with Maschine instantiated off.
