  • Does having a Slave require 2 licences for Vienna Ensemble Pro?

Hi I use Pro Tools and would like to use Vienna Ensemble to bridge to my BFD VST plugin as 64 bit. I got it working using Vienna Ensemble Pro Server on 1 machine. I'm getting some popping and think it will help if I slave my BFD plugin. So is it possible for me to have my BFD plugin run on a slave computer? If so do I need to buy 2 Vienna Ensemble Pro Licences or can I just use 1 licence on the slave computer? I'm a little confused how it all works. I see that I am supposed to install Vienna Ensemble Pro Server on the Slave computer, but then what do I install on my master computer with Pro Tools? Is it another version of Vienna Ensemble Pro that I have to buy? Thanks for the info

  • you have 5 licences

  • Ok cool, so I just need to buy 2 physical USB keys it seems. Thanks

  • Hi,

I´d like to be a little more precise there.

    1) Vienna Ensemble PRO comes with 3 licenses.

    2) You only need a license (and therefore a key) on each computer yo want to actually run the VE PRO Server. If you are only using your master computer to connect to your slave computer, you will NOT need a VE PRO license, as you will just open the VE PRO SERVER INTERFACE (the plug-in that connects to available VE PRO Servers).

    Best,

    Paul

  • Thanks Paul I just tried the 1 physical key like you said on the slave computer and it works now. This is a pretty cool tool. Thanks!
