    Ok so after much time moving things around the stage etc I finally found the detailed string sound I am looking for.  However, there are times if I even nick the Modwheel to high one tick, they are to loud and I need to modify the track midi information (or run a CC11 automation track to lower the volume).  So my question is, If I want to have it hit a certain level of detail and stop, which of the two is better for this task so I can being learning how to use it properly?  I want to be able to have it hit a certain level of detail without getting more screechy and harsh, while letting me raise the volume to get a big smooth sound during dynamic parts.

    *By the way, the strings are VSL Chambers, VSL Orchestral and VSL Appassionata's all layered.  Specifically targetting Violas and Violins in this song.  That's what I am working with.*

     Use an Input transformer to limit the level of CC information.

    Hey DG thanks for that.  I had never heard of one of those until you mentioned it haha.  Now to go figure out how to do this in Studio One.

    I think Studio One is programmed by some of the guys who used to program Cubase, so I'd be surprised if there is  isn't something suitable. If not, then maybe a feature request would be in order.

    Well I got my answer that this functionality doesn't exist in Studio One yet so I have to find another solution (or maybe a 3rd party plug-in) to do the same thing.

    I was just informed last night, that my M-Audio Axiom controller has the capability to do this also within the programming (Enigma Software).  So into the manual I go.
