  • VI2 Red sample cells

Hi, I've recently updatet to VE5 + VI Pro2. I've been very careful and have all the software in latest versions including e-lisenser and I've done the sample library update. My problem is this: When opening the new presets for VI Pro2 I have a lot of red sample cells, not all but a lot. Meaning that there's parts of the new presets that I can't use. Maybe it's because I don't have all the licenses needed for the full use? I have the basic version of the Cube + a few additional libraries. Is this the cause? I've tried rescanning my sample folders with the directional manager but with no luck. Best, Sonja

  • Red cell means you don't have that sample licensed.

  • Hi, Cool, makes sense. A little strange that VI Pro2 shows me the cell's then. I know I didn't get the full library. Would it be dumb to remove the red cell's? Best

  • They made mention ahead of time that this would happen (it's documented and in their videos).  There is no other way for them to make presets (because they either make presets or they don't).  They can't possibly customize them for every single possible user based on what products they own and don't own.  So they already let us all know this would happen (and is why they made them bright red).

What I would do, is based on the samples I own, replace the cell with the closest one possible.  For instance, I do not own complete Orchestral strings, but I own all the special edition.  So when it calls for Orchestral Legato, I replace the cell with my special edition sample.
