- Are you able to say whether the glitches happen in VEP or Pro Tools?
- Have you assigned enough/too many cores for either PT or for each instance in VEP?

Hi DG,
Thanks for getting back to me on this.
1. It is difficult for me to determine this. What I can say however is that, barring the odd occurence, it will only happen when I am using VIPro2 and/or VEPro5, and then mainly when the load is considerable. In sessions without these I basically have no problems. Protools is running very stable on my present setup (MacPro 6-core 3.33 GHz Westmere, 16 GB RAM, OSX 10.6.8).
2. My playback engine in Protools is:
HW buffer size 512 samples
Host processors 11 (out of 12)
CPU usage limit 90%
Number of voices: usually 64 on 2 DSP's
Delay compensation: long
Cache size: 3 GB
Plugin streaming buffer: level 2 optimized for streaming content on audio drives
My settings for VEPro5 are:
Latency: 2 buffers
Multiprocessing: 7 threads
I started out with 2 threads and gradually went up in an effort to improve the problem.
Best regards, Bob.
