  • VE PRO and Cubase

    Hi all,

When I load an instance of VEpro (still on version 4) in Cubase, for some reason, my interface is showing the picture below.  Basically, just a list of channels and their presets.  How come I can't see the server?

I'd be immensely grateful for any help you could give.  This is supremely frustrating and I'm afraid I'm just being ignorant of something (still a bit new to Cubase).  When I load VE Pro in DP, the server interface appears, but something about Cubase isn't allowing it.

    Thanks so much,

  • Go in the upper right menu (small arrow) and select switch to plugin editor.

  • Thanks, Fred.  Unfortunately, I don't have that option.  Any ideas?

  • Eh that's weird!

Maybe yould should try reinstalling VE Pro. Looks like it's missing something. Are others VSTi displayed correctly?

DG, one of the forum member, look like the Cubase-Nuendo wizard here. He should know. Or VSL Staff...

  • I've never seen that interface. Are you by chance instantiating VE Pro via 'add track>instrument'? If so, don't. Use the vst instruments rack, F10.

  • I can't make Cubase show anythng like that.

Anyway, F10, the vsti rack; looks like this:

if you have done and it looks like yours, I have no idea what would make that happen, sorry.

  • even so, the instrument track would show you:

So it may be that something isn't installed right.

  • I've seen this and I believe that is the cubase generic editor. I didn't read your specs but I'm assuming that you are running VEP4 64 bit - in Cubase 64 with the Mac and I think there is an issue w/the VEP running that configuration in Mac. Does it happen when you open CUbase (while also running mac 32bit) in 32 bit and Have tried the version 5 yet to see if it happens there? Are you updated to the latest versions of Vienna?

Make sure you boot Mac 32bit and cubase is set to start in 32 bit and see if issue with GUI changes. That will narrow down problem. Then make sure you have all updates installed...hope that helps:)
