  • VE-PRo 4 - VE-Pro 5 Questions

my questions are mostly concerning heavy use of K5 instances with in VE-Pro (Currently I am running 14 VE-Pro 4 instances with one K5 instance each):

    - Are there any performance improvments in version 5 (how it handlesmulti processors etc)?

    - Version 5 states that now multiple ports can be used even with Logic, eliminating the 16 channel cap - How does that work and how do you set this up?

    Thanks in advance!

  •  You use the Evening Input fetures to send multipul MIDI port to one instance of VEP.  Why not download the manual?

  • Actually, since the brand new update of VE Pro 5 (version 5.0.10068), there's also an alternative for using the Event Input plugin in the form of a Logic Environment setup, which has some benefits which are outlined in the also updated manual.

ok, i checked the manual... at first glance it looks very involved and seems to be not just a plug'n'play thing - but i guess that is all that can be done without changing the actual AU plugin specifications - hello apple...!

now, if i did that (get ve-pro5 and used the above method) - and if i was able to reduce the number of ve-pro instances from 19 to let's say 4 - would that give me a noticable advantage regarding performance? - and does ve pro 5 already has improved perfomance over version 4?
