  • A question about the oboe ensemble in 'Woodwind Ensembles'

Hi. I was just thinking about this, and I bet many others would like to know also...

Are the oboes sampled in the new Horizon Series 'Woodwind Ensembles'
Viennese oboes, or French oboes? I just ordered the 'French Oboe' library, and would like to know how the ensembles would integrate with my current setup.

    Thanks,
    Mike

  • Oh, one last thing:

Is there vibrato in any of the sustained notes, or are they all non-vibrato? If there is vibrato, exactly which instrument sections and patches contain it?

    Mike

  • Mike,

this is based on my beta version, which I think is correct.

Flutes have vibrato....all others do not.

The oboes appear to be Viennese. This you might think would be a problem, but I am finding the section works really well. Having the solo french oboe is of course a must. It's important of course to remember that an oboe can be the most piercing sounding instrument of the 4 basic woodwinds depending on range (basic orchestration).
