The DVD libraries and the download libraries are two entirely different types of libraries and cannot be mixed.
It is very worthwhile to have the DVD standard libraries over the SE and SE+ libraries. The DVD libraries have more velocity layers and are sampled at every half step compared to every whole step. While the SE libraries are very good, the DVD libraries do sound better (I started with the SE and SE+ libraries, and have gradually been buying the full DVD libraries). When going with the full DVD libraries, try to budet for both the standard and extended portions if possible. The extended libraries are very important for providing a much broader range of articulations than is found in the standard libraries.
For the full libraries that include it, the fast legato articulation is a key articulation not included within SE.
Thanks for the quick response. Given the response pertaining to these being different sample libraries from each other I've a dbl check question before I buy.
I want to buy the downloads for the 3 principle solo brass, the DVD for the Solo Strings. (I don't need the Ensemble Brass Sections)
Are the Solo Trp "C", Vienna Horn & Tenor Trbn download libraries the same sample content as found on the #1 Solo DVDs for those respective instruments?
Thanks again!
