    Hi, Simple question to the sample streaming process : In which blocksize does VSL read the samples from the mass storage drive, in 64 kB or 128 kB ? Thanx, Adorno

    I will guess that it will depends of the setting in the Directory manager ??

    Most of the time,it will request 64kB blocks.

    thanks for the info! So is it better to have a high IOPS for random 64kB read or a high general read rate?

    I really cannot say, since I haven't had first hand experiences with more than a couple of SSD's. Currently, the Crucial m4 offering looks good to me. I know Paul is using one in his Macbook Pro, and is having great results with lots of VI's.
