  • Save Just Routings in Slave VEP?

Happy New Years to you all!

While starting to work with my brand new template with VE Pro 5 Server! I've come across something that might be a feature request, or it's already feature and i'm not aware..

So I have a Giant VE Pro Server (64bit) sitting on my Slave Mac Pro! It's so awesome to have all my sounds in one convenient application :)

Although while i'm working, I realized i'd like to change some routings with in Kontakt, G-Player, Omnisphere etc.. What I didn't realize was now when I go back to another cue I was working on, the routings could have potentially changed! and I didn't really keep track of what I did to what sample and where...oops..

So i'm wondering if there is a way to do this easily. I understand about the decouple and preserve function. And I choose to disable them because I'm using the Server like a standalone app, as in, It just sits there independent from my project. Since it takes about 10 min to load all the instruments, I don't want to do that every time I load up a cue, just to get routings right.

Ideally I'd love to have a way where I can save just the data of routings (via Kontakt, G-Player, Omnisphere, etc.) and load THAT information, as opposed to loading ALL the samples etc.

Is this possible?? It would make life much easier..

      Thanks!!!

    ~J

  • Doing some experiments, is this what the Preserve function is for if you DO NOT decouple? Doing some experiments where it asks "Load plugin data" it seems to load faster than when I initially load up VEP - as in it loading all the samples. Does this mean that it's essentially doing what I want? In that it's just loading the routings etc? Thanks, J
