    Would a 10/100M router complete the job of Audio over Lan? If not, what is capable? Do we need to buy gigbit devices?

    For a couple of channels it could work, but I wouldn't recommend it and it's not officially supported either.

    A gigabit switch is far less costly than a gigabit router. You should be able to pick up a good gigabit 5-port switch for 30 USD.

    Thanks to both of you, very helpful! 1.And I suppose a CAT6 cable is good enough? Or is there any good CAT6A cable? 2. I'm thinking about to use one cat6 cable to connect two computers, is this good for sound quality? Can I use my mac pro's 2 ethernet port to connect to two slave computers? Thanks!
