  • Space Designer in VE Pro?and 2 more quesitons

1.Anyway to use Logic's Space Designer in VE Pro? 2.Is Mir Pro 5.1 supported? 3.Anyway can we input audio from Logic on computer A into VE Pro and get audio output to pro tools on computer B? Thanks!

    1. No.
    2. Supported how? I don't understand the question.
    3. I already answered this in one of your other threads.

  • 3. Yes you did, but that thread has a little difference with this question: That thread is about input Midi on computer A then get audio on computer B, this questions is about input audio on computer A and get the processed audio on computer B~

  • 3.  You can probably rig up something that uses AUNetSend and AUNetReceive to communicate audio between computers.  Unfrotunately, VE Pro doesn't seem to support either of these directly.  But you could put in an intermediary device (like AU Lab - included with the Apple developer tools) to convert an audio stream from the other computer to Soundflower and then source that to VE Pro as an audio channel.  Logic can source from and audio channel using AUNetSend directly and receive to a software instrument using AUNetReceive.

OK, well the answer is the same. No. Whatever you route from computer A via the server interface of VE Pro (i.e. not standalone) will always be returned to the computer that it originated from. So to get an audio return into Pro Tools you would need to use the standalone version of VE Pro.

  • Ok!Thanks! But using VE pro standalone, how can I input the midi of my Logic into VE Pro? IAC? Would Iac's latency be high?

  • IAC is for inter app on the same machine.  Use a network MIDI session for inter app on different nachines.  See this for an example:
