  • Sibelius6 - VE Pro 5 - MIR Pro

    Hello,

I'm using without any problem Vienna Ensemble 4, Vienne Instru Pro and the Vienna suite with Sib6.

I may be interested in switching to VE Pro 5 with Mir Pro. I've downloaded the trial version and have some questions. Thank you in advance for your answers on one or several of these questions! [:)]

    1. In Sib6, I can activate the Available device "Vienna Ensemble Pro". Clickink on "Show" makes the Sever Interface appear. But the status is "Not connected". When clicking on connect, I just have a blank list for available instances, slave adress and preserved name.

    2. Just to try, I've launched VE Pro in standalone version. If I go to the MIR tab, and then click on "select venue", an error pop up prompts me: "There's no venue available, please make sure...". Why that? I have properly followed the instal instructions....

    3.  Should I expect a significant gap in terms of perceived quality of playback audio within Sibelius,  with VEPro5+MIR vs. VE4+ViennaSuite (for a Given location, let's say the Vienna Konzert Hall)?

    Thank you very much !

  • For point 2, I've downloaded the Mir trial roompack, I think it should work properly :-)

  • Hello Weezic!

In order to connect to a Vienna Ensemble Pro Server with the VEP plugin, you have to start Vienna Ensemble Pro server before starting Sibelius.

The second question you have answered yourself.
The third question I would leave to your own judgement after testing MIR.

    Best regards,
    Andi
