So I purchased Mir Pro and roompack2 with the "download" option. I didn't get any instructions on where to download the impulse libraries. Nothing is showing up in my User area and nothing was mentioned in the email besides the software downloads. Or are they shipping me a dvd?

download delivery option?

Hi Animus,
please open your User Area and select the "Software"-header: -> http://www.vsl.co.at/en/68/428/1093.vsl
On the left side, you can then see the link to the "RoomPacks"-download subsite -> http://www.vsl.co.at/en/68/428/1957/1622.htm
... from there, just follow the instructions.

thanks Dietz, support got me straight by email.
MIR is pretty awesome. I have been testing it on a Core2 Quad which I will upgrade. It seems when I add the 5th input from the DAW to MIR the audio returning from MIR starts to stutter and break up. THe cpu was at 56% and as soon as I activate that 5th audio input it goes down to around 26 percent while it stutters. At first I thought it might just be buggy new software but I imagine there's just a cpu power issue? Or then I thought it might be a network issue but I can stream a shitload of regular VE Pro channels over network.
So what I am getting at is what cpu do you recomend? Can you give me an idea of how many audio inputs of MIR I could get from a typical i7? Sandy bridge alright? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115071 How many audio inputs you think I could get with that? Probably the most I will use is 20 inputs as I don't do orchestral stuff.
thanks

Nevermind. I found the problem. Seems I had a bad ethernet cable. I noticed even file transfers to that computer were really slow and sure enough network monitor was at 100%. Slapped in another cable and I could add more inputs. I should be able to get the inputs I need now. I might even overlock this Core2 Quad to get a little more juice. Just saved me 500 bucks in computer upgrades for the time being.

Oh - I was just about to answer your previous question when I saw the "cable solution". Good to hear that you're up and running now.
To be honest I wasn't aware of the fact that a network-cable can be just "a little bit" faulty. I was under the impression that it either works, or it doesn't. 8-) .... thanks for the info.
Kind regards,

Yeah it's weird. Not sure what was up. Seemed to be a cap on the bandwidth. It works now so whatever...works. :-)
man, MIR Pro is so awesome. Such a sense of space, lushness and power. It's working great in a regular band type context (with orcestral elements). You guys should play up it's not just for orchestral stuff. ANd you were right. Teldex is my favorite so far but I haven't gone through all the halls.

Yeah, it's golden. I am adding a little bit of Lexicon to some of the dry key tracks too which is nice. But defintely I was use far less regular reverb which is a good thing I think. I also love MIRacle on the master Buss MIR returns set on the Modulation preset. MIRacle is basically based off Hybrid Reverb correct?

Of course!! So it's a pity, there isn't still an instrument profil in MIR PRO for the vsl jazz drums. It's the stepchild of the company seems to me. You shouldn't be so shy. It's a really great sounding tool, very useful and deep sampled. So, take it on my personal wish list 😊 btw more than a great upgrade...!! Best Frank

Speaking of Jazz Drums, I believe VSL said they were going to ad MIDI drum files of different beats, fills, etc, when Jazz Drums was first released as a bonus instrument. Does anyone know if there are more preset drum MIDI files and where to get them? I absolutely love the Jazz Drums, but often don't use them as I'm short on time to program them into a song file.
Thanks & All Best, Tom

There should be one downloadfile in your user area under the jazzdrum-files called "jazzdrum projects". These midi-files are good starting points - sometimes. I think for jazzmusic there is not really a short cut for the drum. But mostly I program a basic pattern, creating a lot of variations of it to get a more lively performance. So it needs not too much time, but still an amoung of course. Frank EDIT: I'm aware now, the midifiles are not there anymore. Didn't find them nowhere. So I suppose they will be not delivered anymore. Maybe someone of VSL can explain why or whether you can get these files in a different way.
