  • Conecting two Macs - is all I need a gigabit switch?

I'm currently using the VE Pro via my hallway router.   I might be constraining speeds to 10/100 as a result.

I think I might be over complicating the setup.  Would it be right to say I just need to buy a gigabit switch and connect the two computers that way?  i.e. without needing internet at all through a router?     I was in the mindset that I had to use a router?

    Hope to hear back thanks

  •  Just connect them directly with ann Ethernet cable. No need to go through a router or a switch.
