Dimension Brass Performance Legato question

Hi,
I'm having a hard time understanding the way perf legato works in DB. In other libraries the legato effect between notes is quite apparent (Cinebrass etc) but i can't really here any gliss/port effect when moving between notes. Am i missing something painfully obvious here? I'm using both VI Pro and VE Pro so if someone could clarify how this can be achieved, i'd be grateful

Hi MacDude,

The performance legato for Dimension Brass is a "simple" legato that connects 2 notes (without any portamento or glissando). You can find these articulations in our other horn ensembles, which also make a great addition to the Dimension Brass.

Thanks for your reply. So in order to have articulations such as port/gliss i would need to add these from another library. As far as the 'simple' legato feature is concerned, shouldn't the ensemble play back in monophonic mode when this articulation is selected?

You can force a monophonic mode for these patches in the Advanced page of VI PRO: Options Tab => Interval Mode (poly or monophonic), if you like.

Hi Paul,
A little light is starting to break through now ;-)
I think i'll go for the Epic Horns as they have that immediate 'WOW' factor and are very reasonably priced. I'm also trying to decide how best too proceed and make use of the September offer. Am i right in thinking if i buy a Horn ensemble, i'd be entitled to a free single instrument download?
