  • VEP Not seeing any AU's except apple

    HI,
Apologies in advance if the answer to this is straight forward. After enjoying VEP as a host for DM and Epic, i decided to take the plunge and use it as a host for my VSTs & AU Plugins. However, VEP only seems to see a limited number of AU's in a solitary Apple drop down menu.
How do i change the browse path so VEP can see all of my plugins?
    Thanks,
    MD

  • Firstly it won't  see any VST plugs. Secondly, the 32bit server will see the 32bit plugs and the 64bit server will see the 64bit plugs. Which ones can't you see?

  • Hi DG,
After i checked the forum it became clear it won't see any VST, so i've just spent a bit of time re-installing the AU versions of the plugs and VEP now sees the most important one which is Kontakt as a 64bit plug so phew......BUT for some reason i can't split the multi outputs of Kontakt in VEP? All the instruments come out of the master bus where as i'd like to split them across different channels in VEP.
Lastly, is the following correct: Running VEP server 64 bit alongside Cubase 32bit should allow Kontakt too access more then 4gb RAM (on the same mac) OR in order to make use of 64 bit, both the DAW and VEP must be running as 64 bit apps ?
I'm new to this 64 bit world so forgive my naivety ;-)

EDIT: Have sussed the output issue ;-) Created Input bus and routed accordingly.

  • 1) Yep, as I said, AU only.

    2) Sorted....!

    3) 32bit  Cubase is fine. Don't forget to switch off the Kontakt memory server.
