  • In Praise Of Chamber Strings

Typical new customer. FOUR THOUSAND POSTS!

I wanna express my admiration for Chamber Strings. I really had to scrimp and save to get CS1 and 2.

Before this I ended up getting EWQLO instead of SE because it represented better value for money for what I do. Frankly, neither package had demos that made me wet with excitement. Most of the demos just sound like sample libs... which is fine. To me VSL sounds a bit more  'classical' and EW sounds more like 'Games'.

But when I heard that 'Illness And Recovery' demo for CS, it not only sounded -great-, but it's actually a pretty good piece of music... and it represents the library very well. It's not just ear-candy. And I needed the smaller sections for what I'm doing so I broke down and got CS.

I got the lib today and after 2-3 hours playing around I gotta say: this is the first string lib I've ever auditioned where I -believed-. I recorded some simple ideas and when I hit 'play'... I believed.

It was like the first time I had a piano lib that was actually -enjoyable- to play... not just a make-do. It's a game changer for me and I want to express my appreciation.

  • I second that.  VSL did a fantastic job with the Chamber Strings and they are a joy to work with.
