Hi There -
I have a question with regards to sample loading when using VES (as my instrument host) and Nuendo w/ a fairly elaborate composing template.
It is my understanding that when I create a "metaframe" in either the 64 or 32 bit server, all of the samples that I have assigned for my template based on the instruments I have chosen and mapped should load upon invoking the "metaframe" in the server instance of VES. Is this correct?
What is happening is the following:
- I launch an instance of VES Server
- I then open the "metaframe" (this has all my strings, woods, cue elements, etc) - This takes a bit of time to load as
my template is about 14Gb
- Then I launch Nuendo and choose "new project" and choose my template that correlates to my VES "metaframe" (I call it
"Hybrid Full)
- What happens is that samples start loading again and it takes almost the same time, if not longer, to load as it did
when I launched the "metaframe" - I have nothing in the VST rack but the VES instances to connect to the server
I am perplexed as to why this is happening. I was under the impression that the primary reason to utilize hosting software such as VES or Bidule was to allow for rapid project switching when working on cues etc. My sequencer appears to be reloading all of the samples. Could I have something misconfigured with Preserve Instance, Decouple, or something else?
What would cause my sequencer to reload all the samples? Maybe VES is not loading everything until the sequencer calls it?
I believe that the instances of VES in my VST rack connect to the server upon launching the template
Anyhow, some help would be truly appreciated, as I a bit new to VES and a little frustrated at this point.
Thanks...
