  • two articulations playing at the same time for one instrument in sibelius

    Hello everybody

i've just found a solution to one of my problems that I mentioned on my last threads.[I]

If you want to use two articulations playing at the same time for one instrument ( let's say harp ) in sibelius you can do this:

Create the same instrument twice in sibelius and VE ( with separate double staves ). Write the "normal" part and the special articulation part on the upper two staves . Copy the  special articulation to the second double stave ( same instrument type below) . You'll have to enable the playback on these notes ( dynamics and text as well) on the playback menu. Then hide all the notes of the second instrument on the lower double staff having just the special articulations part. After that choose "hide  empty staves". Sibelius will hide this even though there is music ( hidden notes ) on these staves/ that staff.

Like this you get to here different articulations at the same time sounding properly. And you've got a normal looking score that you can hand in to your musician friends tpp[:)].

    cheers,

    Dave
