I need a new computer for composing music and flight simulation. In the July-Aug issue of UK magazine PC Pilot there was a computer reviewed which seems close to what I am after. The budget was £1700 and about £250 of this was for a 27” Asus monitor. The specs were:
Xigmatec Midgard case
650W Antec True Power 80+ power supply
Intel i7 2600 quad core overclocked processor
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU cooler
8GB Corsair DDR3 1600mhz RAM
500GB Seagate Hybrid SSD with 4 GB of SSD memory
1TB secondary hard drive
DVD RW
Asus P8P67 motherboard
Nvidia GTX570 graphics card
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
How will this serve for running Vienna on? I would want another 4 or 8 GB of DDR3 RAM for loading samples. I’m not sure whether I want a Hybrid SSD rather than a standard hard drive. Any advantage for streaming samples?
Also thinking of upgrading to Vienna Instruments Pro but staying with the standard version of Vienna Enesmble - is this possible? Okay in a 64-bit environment?
Thanks for your help.
