  • VE PRO - Win7 => Home Premium, Professional, or Ultimate ???

     Is there any benefit to running VE Pro on Professional or Ultimate??

    Which Win 7 edition should I get?

  • Professional has additional networking features that you would be kicking yourself for not having, should you find that you eventually do need them. Ultimate is overkill, IMO.

    I would recommend W7 Professional 64bit

  • I use professional so I can use remote desktop (with CoRD) to access my PC's desktop and VEP directly from my Mac monitor. That way, external computers don't need their own monitors once you have it setup. You can do this without professional but was too complex to figure out, so I just got pro which makes it much easier and it all hooks up perfectly

  • VERY IMPORTANT reason for going with Win Pro (at least) is the RAM limitations. (See chart below)

    With the new SSD features in VIP 2.0 it shouldn't be nearly as big of a problem, but I would still recommend Win 7 Pro to avoid any future issues and in case you don't own a SSD.
