  • Vienna Instruments Pro New Features Question and Request

Excited to hear about the new features of the forthcoming VIP. Flexible time stretching is a welcome addition. Wondering if there are any plans to develop a tempo-synched-auto-stretch feature? Looking forward to the update. -M

  • Or at the very least - musically useful parameters.  It would be great, where appropriate, to type in 132bpm rather than a percentage.

  • One thing I noticed about VI Pro in Logic Pro 8 is that unlike the regular VI, Vi Pro uses the same memory as Logic. I've noticed that with regular Vienna Instruments I can load as many articulations as I want as long as it fits into 16GB ram. With VI Pro I am restricted to the same memory as Logic Pro 8.

I could upgrade to Logic Pro 9 but don't want to spend the money at the moment (I would prefer to spend the money on more Vienna Instruments). I can also get round this by using VE Pro with Logic but I prefer using VI Pro directly.

So it would be wonderful if VI Pro 2.0 had it's own memory server just like the standard VI so that I could use as much memory as I want without upgrading to Logic Pro 9.

VSL would have to input metadata into their samples to make that work, and so far they have not done this.

I think this is not a good idea. If you need to use memory outside of Logic, use VE. There were reasons to user a memory server (such as no 64bit on OSX) when VI was launched, but those reasons no longer exist.

Hi DG, we have been talking about this since the VI pro released, but now,who knows.maybe VSL change their mind.

  • Hello VSL

Is it possible to have a buffer size by disk ?

I have Wind and Brass on a raid 0 of SSD and no more room

The rest of my VSL is on an HD

    Thanks in advance

    Best

    Cyril

  • No,

the buffer size is fixed and global for all instances of VIPro.
