  • Jazz drums where to buy?

So... I just spent all my savings in upgrading my old setup for this new movie project. So I bought the Vienna Special edition and the extended bundle. The VE pro and VI pro. I sit down to compose and I realize I don't have a "jazz" double bass on the library or a drum kit. So I come to the website to purchase them additionally, only have a few pounds left at this point. The double bass went without a hitch, but for the life of me I can't find jazz drums anywhere...? Are they available? I saw them being used in one of the tutorials but I can't seem to find it in the products pages. I appreciate the help! C.

  • Unfortunataly Jazz Drums has been available only a short time as an additional gift of vsl for purchasing Vienna Suite - AKAIK. But very often I've read the question you did here and sometimes it seems to me vsl is having in mind to make it available regulary. But I don't know! And I don't know, why they didn't, cause the Jazz - Drums are outstanding like their jazzy upright bass. Try to contact the custom service, maybe they have an idea what you can do to get the drums. Sorry to say...

  • Thanks for the reply! It seems absurd that they wouldn't provide/sell this very useful library. Do they expect me to go to their competitors? That's just weird! I rather have everything in Vienna... It's just easier to work with. Thanks for the advice, I will contact support! C.

  • I suppose they hold them back to have to offer some rewards for loyal customers - and the Jazz Drums are really a goody! Otherwise some hinnies would like to vociferate about (why do they go towards jazz, they are on the classic department or something like such fooleries)

  • Since we are at it: can you recommend some good (easy to use) jazz drums? Vienna type quality? Thanks!

  • Hi,

The Jazz Drums will be available as a separate download product within the next months!

    Best,

  • So clruwe, I highly recommend the vsl jazz drums for download! :-) For the real j a z z drum sound - (specially brushes but even the stick samples) - it's simply the best - IMHO! (btw the demo by Christian Unterberger with piano/uprightbass/jazzdrums doesn't exist anymore? Couldn't find it - Star Wars only in roompack II demos for MIR, even not in user demos...??) Would be a pity!! Frank

  • Thank you very much Paul and Frank! I like the idea of getting the VSL jazz drums, but depending on how long it takes to be released I'm not sure I can wait. I'm on a tight deadline and I need to have everything synchronized by the end of July. I could patch it up in the meanwhile using Sampletank, but I'm going to need some professional sounding library before then. So... If you can still recommend a good library I'd appreciate. Kontakt or otherwise... Many thanks! C.

  • I would contact the vsl custom service. If it gets to official sell next time, they will help you immediatly I suppose. For Jazz - Drum I don't know any other stuff deeply sampled and with this sound (and for the price). For pop/rock try out the new Drumasonic lib for K 4, oherwise abbeyroad drums. But these are not for J a z z ! Cheers Frank

  • Thanks Frank! I'll keep them on the side just in case. I couldn't see if either of them had brushes, it didn't appear so. I'll contact support and ask them about it. Thanks for the advice! C.
