  • total newb question - loading OTHER vst's into Ensemble?

Hi Guys, I am using the free version of Ensemble (running everything on one computer) but in poking around today I saw that with the Pro version, I can load other VSTs (say my choirs from EWQL for example) into the interface? Is there a benefit to this other than the fact (a BIG fact) that I prefer the interface of the Ensemble? I would LOVE to be able to load all my VSTs in via Ensemble. I have been poking around this evening, not finding anything when I load Ensemble into Cubase. Only lets me load VSL samples and there doesn't seem to be any Preference to say point to an extra folder for VSTs. I'm on a 64bit Mac, OSX 10.6.7.

I keep seeing screenshots of people with their VSTs loaded in, so I'm hopeful.

Do I need to upgrade to Pro to do this? Am I confused about the whole thing?

    Thanks kindly,

    Shawn

  • Firstly, yes you would need to upgrade to VE Pro to load 3rd party VSTi

Secondly there is no 64bit version of PLAY for OSX, apart from a Beta version.

  •  Thanks DG. OK, at least a Beta means it's promising there will be a supported release sometime, hopefully.

If I were to re-build the server I just decommissioned (6 SATA hot-swap drives and I have a bunch of Raptors), could I load all of my intensive samples (VSL, EWQLSC, Trilian, etc.) onto that box, and use my mac to load cubase and run everything, if I purchase Ensemble Pro?

I'm not sure how this works. Would I need dual licences for everything?

    Thanks,

    Shawn
