Vienna Ensemble not showing up in FInale 2011

Previously, I was able to run Vienna Ensemble in both FInale 2010 & 2011 with no problems. A month or so ago, I downloaded the demo for Vienna Ensemle Pro. VE Pro also showed up as an Audio Unit choice and worked in Fin 2010 & 2011. I decided not to upgrade to VE Pro at this time. That authorization expired after 30 days.

How can I get VE to show up in FInale 2011?

Hello Jet!

Have you tried reinstalling the latest version of Vienna Ensemble?
If this doesn't help, I would repair permissions with the tool "Disk Utility".

Hi Andi,

I've reinstalled the latest version of VE and repaired permissions. VE still doesn't show up in Finale 2011. (I've also tried depeting my Finale preference file, didn't help)

Any other ideas of what I can try?

Hello Jet!

Could it be, that Vienna Ensemble is not activated in your Finale Manage Audio Unit Plug-ins menu?

If it doesn't even appear there, I suggest a full uninstall of Vienna Instruments, Vienna Ensemble and VE Pro.

Delete all Vienna Instruments files with the help of the application ViennaUninstall and all Vienna Instruments and Vienna Ensemble receipts (.pkg files) from ...LibraryReceipts

Trash also the Preferences files

-com.vsl.vsldirs1.plist
-com.vsl.vslfrontend.plist
-com.vsl.appPresets.plist (if this one is not there, please do not worry!) from Macintosh HDLibraryPreferences

Empty Trash and RESTART your computer. Then repair permissions with help of the tool disk utility.

Please note that normally a simple ViennaUninstall and restart, before the new installation would do, and all the other steps are only necessary, if you are facing trouble.

After that please reinstall Vienna Instruments and Vienna Ensemble.
