  • Need a suggestion: VE Pro or VI Pro for Pro-Tools on PC???

Hi, I just bought VI Special Edition today. I wanted a suggestion. The normal interface VI doesn't work with Pro-Tools 8 LE. So which would you suggest I buy: VE Pro or VI Pro? I don't really need the extra samples from the VE Pro. But since I don't really know about these two products, I was hoping that I could get some help. Thanks!!

    Welcome Lucofborg [:)],

The best idea is to install Vienna Ensemble, that is included with each VI Collection. This will make VI work within PT on Windows!

    Best,

  • And additionally I suggest you purchase VI Pro.  It will make every aspect of what you do with VSL products better.  Do as Paul suggested and get your free copy of VE (non pro version).  It's great for local hosted stuff, however the VI Player cannot even begin to compare to the power of the VI Pro player.  It is a life changer for workflow and what you can do to the samples themselves.  Make no fuss about it, the step up from VI player to VI Pro is not a small step, it's enormous.  Humanized playback, polyphonic legato, etc.  I can go on all day about VI Pro.  Just get it.

  • Thank you Paul and Cgernaey. After properly registering the SE everything worked fine in Pro-Tools LE on Windows. I spent the day working with the free VI, and tomorrow I'll try the VI PRO demo. If evreything is easier with it, I will buy it without thinking! Cheers!!
