  • Are VE-PRO Metaframes cross-platform (PC/MAC)?

Hi all. I've made a VE-PRO project on my slave pc (Windows 7). Now I need to open the same saved project on Mac (10.6.7), and of corse I have the plugins contained in the metaframe installed also in my Mac. I tried to open the metaframes and in opened but appeared a dialog window that says I can't load the following plugins: Kontakt, Omnisphere. The instance opens fine, with all the tracks listed and correctly labeled, but no plugs loaded. Since there is no way of replacing VIs (as opposite as with Efx which you can easily replace) I'm a little bit lost. The only thing that comes up to my mind is that in my slave PC the plugs are 64bit and in my Mac are still 32bit. Anybody run through this problem and found a workaround? Many thanx in advance. Cheers Arceo

  • They are x-platform for our own plugins, such as Vienna Instruments, Vienna Instruments Pro and Vienna Suite. For any other plugins, they will not be x-platform, since Mac uses AU and PC uses VST. There is no way for us to convert between these formats without knowing their internal structure.

  • Hi Martin, thanks for your promp reply. At this point (being that the thirdy part plugs are not x platform) is there a way to replace them as you can do with the mixer effects where you right click an EFX and find the "Replace effect" dialog? I tried to do it selecting a VST intrument track, right clicking it, but choosing "Insert VSTi" it adds a new track with a new VSTi, it doesn't replace it. So am I missing something or there is no way to do it for now? Thanx again for your help. Arceo

  • Bump! ;-)

  • At the moment it is not possible to replace the plugin of a VSTi/AU instrument channel directly. What is possible is to insert a new channel and copy/paste the channel properties (right click the original channel, "Copy"->"Effects + Sends + Powerpan + Pan + Volume", right click the new channel, "Paste Effects + Sends + Powerpan + Pan + Volume"). That should save you some time in porting the project.

  • Hi Karel, thank you for your precious suggestion. I'm going to give it a try asap. In the meanwhile I humbly request you software developer to implement the "Replace Instrument" feature sometime in the future. It would come handy also for A/Bing VSTi in place. Once again, thanks for your help. Cheers. Arceo
