    I just downloaded and installed VE-Pro and Vienna Instruments on my Windows 7 Professional (version 6.1) and just after the install finished, the screen went black. Restarting the machine got the "Something's wrong with your machine, would you like me to fix it?" dialog and it told me the likely cause was a newly installed piece of software. I uninstalled build 8008 in Safe mode, and the machine now starts up fine. 

    Am I the only one? Is there a Windows update I ought to have? 

    I'll try going back one or two versions, and report the result.
