  • How do you save presets for panning, reverb etc without saving the instrument patches?

    Hi to the forum,

I think that the settings from Christian's "Hannibals Elephants" have with what I feel is a excellent reverb setting, and panning and effects settings.

I wanted to use these settings in one of my own compositions that uses VEnsemble. I went and copied each channel, and then when I went to load the channel settings, I discovered that I was also loading the patches for the original instrument from that file as well. I discovered that I could save the channel settings - but, I actually only want the panning, reverb, and effect settings from Christians file. I experimented with this by opening his file again, and saving the channel effects, but when I went to test this out in Vens, I seemed to get another channel loaded with the same instruments as the original. Is there some way just to copy the settings for the pan, reverb etc, and to be able to load them only into the existing channel for the instrument I have created?

I also noticed a "copy" function for panning, reverb etc and also for all of these settings for this purpose, but, I think [maybe I am wrong here], that  this function seems to  to copy a channel setting from an existing channel to another one, not from a saved one. I am wondering if I may be misunderstanding of the concept of what I am to do here, possibly wrong in the first place, and that's possibly why I am not getting what I would like to do here.

If anybody could help me out with some advice here, I would be very appreciative of this.

    thanks and best,

    Steve.

You can't recall the pan, sends settings in an existing channel but you can recall an instrument presets or matrix into an existing channel.

save your instruments presets you have created and load it into Christians channel. Then save the channel presets as your own.
