    Am I going mad or does this patch play two notes, a C3 and A3, when playing a C3,  on the first of the round robins ?

     Yes, you are right on C3 and B2 on Trombone 2 staccato,  at the highest velocity level (over 109),  the first note of the repetitions is a fifth too high

    yep. Just received VDB yesterday, started playing around and noticed that as well. Hope it will be fixed soon. Love the new library by that way:)
