  • RMX Loops are out of time sometimes

I am using a PPC as the master so I know I'm not 100% on the support grid but I thought I'd point out that in the current build of VEP(4.1 8008) and the prevoius build, there is a problem where Stylus RMX and other loop/sync based V'Is are not syncing correctly. Not only when auditioning loops but also when triggering synth loops.

This is intermittent. It happens about 80% of the time. It is always fixed by disconnecting the slave and re starting VEP. Then everything is fine.

Happens to me every day and has done so for the last 6 months. Sorry I didn't post earlier.

Perhaps on an Intel machine (Master) this doesn't happen. My slave machine (where VEP resides) is an Intel but the master is a PPC.

  • Ok I'm bumping this because it's happening a lot now and it's on my slave  Intel Mac Pro not my PPC.

Unless the VEPplug on the master PPC is the culprit.

A restart of VEP always fixes the problem.............but it's a vibe killer.

  •  Same thing on my rig. I use Maschine too, which has its own sequencer, and many times I see that the tempo is wrong. To avoid this I need to start PT on the master first, then the VEP Servers on the slave, and finally connect the RTAS plugins to the slave.

  • Thanks Stig, I'll try that sequence. Sometimes I do start VEP on the slave first. If I no longer have the problem I will bump this post and report back.

  •  According to page 5-6 in the manual, we're supposed to start VEP Server first. It's strange that it doesn't work all the time...
