    I had a very stable system running OS 10.5.8, and VE build 3713 (very old).  I finally updated VE, but now when I launch Pro Tools, the 64 bit version of VE loads, and the audio is awful.  It breaks up constantly.  PT is 32 bit and doesn't run 64 bit plugins right?  Why is the 64 bit version loading?  I haven't found anywhere where I can specify which version to load.

    I still need to update to 10.6, will that solve the issue?  Or should I roll back to build 3713 that did not have a 64 bit version?

    Hi Doogie,

    The VE Service defaults to 64bit on Mac. It can be forced in 32bit by starting only the 32bit VE Service before instantiating the first VE plugin. Master host projects saved with VE2 will always be loaded in a 32it VE Service for backward compatibility reasons (the service will be started if necessary).
