    My mom used to own a double "French" horn when I was really really young, but my parents desperately needed money, so she sold it. I'd like to include a horn in a piece for her, but the only single-instrument from VSL is a triple horn or the old Vienna horn. Do the double and triple horns sound the same, but the triple horn has a greater range, or do they have completely different sounds? I'd like as complete a sampled VST as possible, such as VSL.

    I'm a french horn player. They sound the same. The triple horn is the same as a double horn but with an extra F alto side which extends the upper range.
