  • Problem loading latest MIR version

After updating to the lastest version of MIR (1844), I get a "Device Configuration Warning-The audio configuration was changed. Please review audio/MIDI preferences" I then go into the preferences and select audio routing, at that point a window comes up  saying "Vienna MIRexe. has stopped working" and I then have to close the program.

Should I revert back to the previos build?

    Thanks

    Rob

  • Thanks for reporting, and sorry for the inconvenience.

The first message is nothing to be scared of, actually. It comes up whenever the audio setup detected at startup differs from the one saved in MIR preferences. As long as you didn't apply changes to your audio system it could be an indication that there is a problem. Could you give us some system details, please (OS, CPU, RAM, ASIO system and drivers etc.)? We will most certainly look into it.

In the meantime, rolling back to the last working version should do the trick for you.

    Kind regards,

Dietz, I get the same message every now and then - without having changed any of the audio settings before. When looking into "Options/Preferences" I then see that the position/detection of my Ultra Lite (external audio interface) has changed: Sometimes the Ultra LIte is listed as the first midi-input-device (before the inputs 1 - 30 of LoopBe30), sometimes as the last (after input 30 of LoopBe 30). Furthermore, sometimes the Ultra Lite is marked "active", sometimes not. All this causes follow-up-problems with midi (no midi detection when pressing keys, distortion of sound etc.) which can only be "solved" by rebooting the system (several times) or tweaking around without a real concept... Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Any ideas or proposals? I always thought of my system as a machine; meanwhile It seems to become more and more human...[:)]

    Kind regards

  • This may well be a MOTU driver problem. I have a MOTU Microlite, and quite often the computer boots up without detecting it. It may be worth booting up and checking that Windows has found the drivers (check what USB devices are active) before launching MIR.

Thank you for quick response. Regarding the quote above: How do I do that?

  • Click the little USB icon on the Taskbar and see whether or not your MOTU is listed as one of the USB peripherals.

  •  Thanks again!

  •  or maybe could you find the .ini file and rename it to reset the configurations ? it worked for me when I was in trouble at the first attempt months ago [Y] If you have a problem again, you will know where to search.

  • Thank you very much, as well, SyQuEst. However, the last sessions I did not encounter any driver-/detecting problems; in my taskbar I could always see "MOTU 100%". So I assume that the drivers were booted correctly. We`ll see what the future will bring... and might come back to this problem. Have a nice weekend,

    Kind regards, Dirk "Thinwood"
