  • Fantastic works Guy - lovely performances and very creative.  That's quite a challenge writing for some of those unusual instruments such as the Cimbasso which we rarely hear in solo let alone at all.

    Superb string writing too!

  • All very impressive Guy.

The Bass Trombone demo made me think again about the extraordinary recorded range in the lower register as low as the contrabass tuba i think in many patches. Whilst it is very impressive, and you have used it to great effect in the demo, it does strike me that in fact very few players can play that well that low and someone writing for mere mortals may be seduced into writing parts which would be too difficult or sound ugly in the hands of most players. The lowest bass trombone note I know from standard repertoire is A1 in symphony fantastique. Still I suppose VSL take advantage of the particular talents of whichever musician they're recording at the time.

  • Demos???

perfect late night radio music, I reckon. I am listening to all of them, with one more to go - the Bass Trombone...

youve got a great reverb sound going, too

  • Thanks a lot guys!

Dave, you make an interesting point and I have thought of that. Will this push instrumentalist to set the bar higher? Who knows!

1 more demo added: Flute ensemble

I will keep adding them on this thread to not have them scattered all over the forum.
