  • Vienna Exploration Kit - licencing and compatibility

Hi all, This is Hung Tran, and although this is my first post, I have been reading the forum for several years... I always dream to have the full library, but I could not afford. This is why when I know that VSL offers the Exploration Kit, I am so happy - although a little late! However, I would like to have some questions before purchasing this at bestservice: Licencing: 1. I wish that you have the mechanism for renting your software after the first purchase of the kit. Let do some calculation: the hard drive cost about $60 dollars for 1 TB, the dongle $30, so I pay 115 - 90 = $25 for 180 hours. (I don't count the shipping since it is for the hardware and I am in the US) This is a good deal of renting a great software like VSL. 2. If for some reason, your company can not implement the re-newing/renting mechanism, can I just buy, say 10 kits, then I can have 180 hours * 10 = 1800 hours? (I mean that after I use up first 180 hours of the first kit, I simply register for the second and discard the first one - using the hard drive for storage) 3. If the answer for 2 is yes, do I need 10 dongles for 10 kits or 1 is good enough? Compatibility: 4. Can the kit work with MIR se and VI pro? 5. If the answer for question 4 above is yes, then what is the requirement for the PC system if I want to use MIR se, VI pro and the kit assuming that I only run 4 instrument at the time (either solo or ensemble)? I am guessing that the requirement should be exactly the same with MIR se. 6. Can the kit work with MIR pro? (if I can afford to buy the powerful computer) That's it for now. Thanks. Hung Tran.
