    It is really hard to guess what you are looking for.

    The Special Edition Manual lists the exact size in RAM for each patch . I would suggest sending a mail to support, they might send this document to you.

    As for individual patch sizes, that is a difficult question to answer, since the bulk of the patch will stream from the disk.  The amount of ram each patch takes also varies quite a bit depending on the nature of the patch.  A short string articulation will require far less ram than a portamento patch.  SE demands are far lighter than the full libraries since far fewer samples are involved per patch (fewer velocity layers, and whole tone samples rather than semi-tone).

    IIRC, small patches require only 5 or even less MB, while I think the portamento might get up to 60 MB, but I really don't recall off the top of my head.  What is well documented is that all the patches from all four of the SE libraries can be loaded into a computer with 8 gigs of ram, and no one has ever needed to do that in a "real world" situation.

    As for comparing the overall sound of SE with the VSL sounds still found bundled in Kontakt, IMO, there is no comparison, with SE being far superior (I do have both SE and Kontakt 4).

    Saddly i heared there is some problems with VSL Se sounds and i talk wood winds. i so sad there is always some problems with all products...

    Hi,

    I have just checked your registrations, and you have not registered any products yet.... There will always be different opinions about all products available on the market, there probably are also some people that find a Rolls Royce terrible to drive or simply not fitting their needs.

    It is a question of taste, and I believe that the results you can achieve with different libraries should point you in the right direction. Here is our Demo Zone.

    True i dont own but i want becouse very tight budjet musician good value of money. and these problems sounds bad. But i must say almost all products have problems. and some have very bad (when we compare this at least some comppanies dont care customers anyway) problems. some stuff is almost impossible get here where i live. stuff have importer but not good one i understaned.:(

    It would really help if you could post details of what problems you are anticipating, or at least what you specifically are worried about. From a brief reading of your link, it would seem that almost all the problems are from people with a very old computer, or who really don't know how to work with VSL.
