  • Finale's official word on VSL in their Setup Wizard

A ".txt" file is required in order for additional sound libraries to show up in our Setup Wizard. Unfortunately the Vienna Symphonic Library does not come with a text file that allows it to automatically show up in the Setup Wizard. What you can do is set up your document using instruments that are closest to what you are looking for and then go to MIDI/Audio > Instrument Setup > Audio Units Instruments to manually load in the sounds you would like to use.

  • I don't understand why this is a problem. It takes a minute or two to load the VSL sounds that you want. Is a couple of minutes really too much to ask for the user to do something manually? Once loaded, you can save this file as a VSL template, then next time you want to start a project with this instrumentation, it's all set to go.
