  • Best mastering software?

I need some mastering software where I can watch a spectral analyser and see the EQ i apply in real time... any ideas ?

    I'm using Nuendo

  • SpectraFoo is the king of analysys software, but I don't know if it works in Nuendo. Waves makes one that works well too.

  • try Ozone, all mastering tools in one plug [:)]

  • or here's another one:

or this one (though it's a very unique type of EQ):

I assume you don't want a separate window for spectral analisis.
There is also a special kind of "matching spectrum" EQs, if you want to match the timbre of one recording to another one (check Steinberg's "Free Filter").

  • www.masterpinguin.de - one of the best analysis tools for the PC.

If you happen to own RME HDSP-type audio-hardware, RME's DigiCheck 4.0 is almost as good as Pinguin in many respects (the analyser itself is maybe even better) - and it's free! -> www.rme-audio.com

... you have to supply the EQ of our choice yourself in both cases, though.
