  • MIR - optical question

I've looked very carefully trough the MIR Manual. I didn't find anything about some possibilties to adjust the optical brightness of the venue view. In the Foyer it is quite impossible to see the raster, cause it is very bright. So it's quite heavy to see the white raster-lines or almost impossible, beside my old bad eyes ;-)  Actually they are helpful, but don't help in this way. Maybe the raster-lines can be made more grey or maybe better in a light-blue? Or it is possible to adjust the contrast?

    Kind regards

    Frank

  • Hi Frank,

Funny that you ask - we had a discussion internally not long ago, because some of us made the suggestion to get rid of the grid lines at all ;-) ... but as you see, they are still there. Nevertheless, it is true that they are a somewhat marginalized visual feature, and there is no possibility to change the color or the contrast of the grid, sorry to say so.

    Kind regards,

     Hi Dietz,

yes, actually I work using my ears indeed. In the first time the "visualizing" of mixing disturbed the listening, funny. But the scales on a stage are interesting, I think it would be a good starting point for building up a new template using eyes only. Could be quite different from the real distances later in the mix for shure. But I think would be pity to ditch the grid.

    Thanks for  the quick reply!

    Frank

  • The reason why I insisted to keep those fain grid lines is that they give you a good idea of a room's dimensions in the real world. The grid is exactly 1 by 1 meter.

  • Thanks for insist! And don't rid them - make them lightblue! At least that's my wishes. [8-|]
