  • 100% reproduceable error in VI Pro and Logic Pro 8

I am currently "test driving" VI Pro, and I really like what it can do for the sound of my music and for my work flow.

However, on my system, Logic Po 8 always crashes, without fail, when I quit - even if I don't do any work at all. Even simply opening a file, and then quitting immediately crashes Logic.

This does not affect the functionality or my work flow - it only happens when I quit Logic after I am finshed - but it worries me. Are there any files being corrupted? Am I heading for system trouble?

    I use a Mac Pro 1,1 running OSX 10.6.5

See, music is only a hobby for me - I am enjoying it immensly, but I need my Mac in working order for more important stuff. What could the problem be?

Meanwhile, the (imo) very simple question I asked in this thread remains unanswered:

  • Could you send a crash report to support@vsl.co.at - mark the email "For Martin".

    Cheers,

    Cheers,

    thanks, Martin,

I've done that - Saturday January 15th, 7:50 local time, via gmail

If you cannot fix it right away, you might let me know whether it is safe to continue using the player, ignoring the crashes.

  • I have the same behaviour here. I always unload the VEP-plugs and any Altiverb-plugs before I quit, then Logic doesn't crash.

by "unload", do you mean select "no plug-in" in the channel strip beforfe you quit? (and choose "don't save" when the dialogue pops up...)

Anyway, I am not using VEP or Altiverb at all. I'd have to unload up to 20 (or more, once I start using it as my general VI player) instances of VI Pro.

    thanks fo your input!

Exactly! If you have the mixer open, just rubber-band select all channels and choose "no plug-in" on one of them, that unloads them all...
