  • Logic not connecting to VEP instances anymore?

    Hello,

I recently updated from Logic 9.1.1 to 9.1.3, and VE Pro from 4.0.6150 to 4.1.7553 because of all the stated improvements.  Unfortunately I'm now having an issue where my Logic template no longer connects to the proper network instances of VE Pro on my slave machines.  Instead, it creates new blank instances in the 64-bit VEP Server on my main machine, so I have to go in and reconnect everything in my template to their proper instance - this is a MAJOR pain.

    Anybody else?

  • Yes [:'(]

    I had a song with 8 VE PRO / 80 VI

    1) I upgraded all the VE of my orchestral Mframe to use VI PRO.

    2) Launch my new Mframe

    3) Then I Launch my Logic song

The song re-load my old VE PRO  using VI and after while crashed because there was no more memory availlable

  •  Are you using fixed IP? If not, this can be a cause of the problem.

  • Yes, my studio is all on a fixed-IP network.  This has never been a problem until I upgraded - the problem is that I upgraded both VE Pro and Logic at the same time so I'm not sure where the fault lies.  The actual documents are the same though (both my metaframes & Logic template) - only the software versions are different.

  • same issue here. using fixed ip's.

  • Seeing this behavior now also. Only recently started using the preserve functions with a large template so not sure what is causing this...slave machines seem to be connecting fine though, its just the local host. What a drag! any developments?

  • PS If you decouple ALL your plugin instances before you save and close your Logic template, it seems that the instances will correctly connect to the preserved VEP instances when you open the Logic Project. This seems like buggy behavior to me.
